Welcome!
I'm glad you are here!
I am an Associate Lecturer (teaching and research) in the Discipline of Computer Science & Software Engineering (CSSE), School of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Mathematical Sciences (EECMS) at Curtin University. With a teaching and research background since 2019 across four universities in Australia and Bangladesh, I currently serves as the Unit Coordinator and Lecturer for Human Computer Interface and Secure DevOps units, which involves teaching at Curtin Bentley campus and coordinating across offshore campuses, such as Colombo, Mauritius and Malaysia.
My research is centred on trustworthy and responsible AI-enabled software systems across application areas such as healthcare, education and social support. I have recently submitted my PhD thesis on supervised fine-tuning of foundation models for robust empathy detection in text and video interactions. I have also worked on multiple cross-disciplinary projects, such as mineral resources with CSIRO, mental health with The Kids Research Institute, and cybersecurity with Edith Cowan University. I have published 35+ research papers, including articles in IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (TPAMI) and IEEE Transactions on Affective Computing (TAFFC). I have received a "Best Publication" award from the School of EECMS, Curtin University, for a paper from my PhD, and two "Quality Journal Publication" awards from BRAC University.
I have received a few grants, including a research grant in 2024-2025 from BRAC University and four high-performance computing grants in 2024-2026 through the "Pawsey Partner Merit Allocation" scheme. I have mentored and (co-)supervised 30+ undergraduate and postgraduate computing research projects (40+ students).
If you are interested in collaborating or exploring student supervision opportunities, I would be pleased to connect.
